Follow Along with the Message

Matthew 5:9 (NLT)- "God blesses those who work for peace. For they will be called the children of God."

Beatitude- Peace Maker

1.A Profound Blessedness

Reconciliation over Retaliation. Unity over division. Extending the hand of peace even when it seems undeserved

2. Pursuing Peace in Relationship

Romans 12:18 (NLT)- "Do all that you can to live at peace with everyone."

Ephesians 12:14 (NLT)- "For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us "

3. Agents of Reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NLT)- “And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Acts 15:36-40 (NLT)- "After some time Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s go back and visit each city where we previously preached the word of the Lord, to see how the new believers are doing.” Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark. But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in their work. Their disagreement was so sharp that they separated. Barnabas took John Mark with him and sailed for Cyprus. Paul chose Silas, and as he left, the believers entrusted him to the Lord’s gracious care.”

Colossians 4:10 (NLT)- "Aristarchus, who is in prison with me, sends you his greetings, and so does Mark, Barnabas’s cousin. As you were instructed before, make Mark welcome if he comes your way.”

We must collapse the relational triangles in our lives.

Go Face to Face

Matthew 5:23-24 (NLT)- “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.”
