The New Year is exciting because of the that comes from something new.

The Hope for a believer is we are a  creation!

1 Corinthians 5:16-17- So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Ephesians 3:17-19- Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

A change on the calendar doesn't make a difference, but a change in  makes all the difference.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20- Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord Your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Three Choices for Life in the New Year

1. Choose Life in

Mark 10:45- For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many

John 15:13- There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

2. Choose Life in

Matthew 16:24- Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

John 15:10- When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

3. Choose Life in

Matthew 24:12-13- Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (abr.)- ... And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith...
