How can Christianity claim there is only one way to God? God has opened a doorway to fellowship with him—and it is open to everyone and all creation.

“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

--Acts 4:12

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

--1 Timothy 2:5

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

--John 14:6

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”

--John 13:34–35

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”

“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

--John 14:1-5

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time”

--1 Timothy 2:1-6

“If you dethrone Jesus, you enthrone something, or someone, else instead. The belief that ‘all religions are really the same’ sounds nice and democratic—though the study of religions quickly show that it isn’t true. … The whole New Testament—the whole of early Christianity—insists that the one true and living God, the creator, is the God of Israel; and that the God of Israel has acted decisively, within history, to bring Israel’s story to its proper goal, and through that to address, and rescue, the world. The idea of a vague general truth, to which all ‘religions’ bear some kind of oblique witness, is foreign to Christianity”

--N.T. Wright

Who is Jesus?

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

--Romans 5:8

"You know that [Jesus] appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin."

--1 John 3:5

Three Reasons to Believe Why Jesus is Really the Only Way to God:

First, what Jesus did as the  of God.

“Certainly a love that denies justice is a farce, but so is justice which does not love.”

--Scott Bader-Saye, Professor of Theological Ethics

“…and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

--Colossians 1:20

Second, what Jesus did as the   of God.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God…. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.”

--1 Corinthians 1:18 & 25

Third, what Jesus did as the  of life.

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God;[a] believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

--John 14:1-3

"Also, [God] has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that [man] cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."

--Ecclesiastes 3:11b

Application Point:

Through our radical love, service, and kindness, we can live out the good news of Jesus and show others the  God has .
