We exist to serve others by showing God’s love in practical ways through meeting the needs within our communities and spheres of influence. Simple acts of personal kindness can open hearts to the love of Jesus for both those being served and those serving. Turning Points Outreach Serve team is made up of Outreach Small Groups and individuals who are using their gifts and talents to glorify God by serving others.
We want every person who is passionate about helping people to find the right opportunities to effectively use their gifts to build up the body of Christ and extend the Kingdom of God.

SERVE Day - Small Groups on October 9th

I (Pastor Josh) want to take a moment and invite you to register your small group for SERVE Day on October 9th. We will be meeting at the church at 9am for prayer and worship and then roll right into SERVE Small Groups. This is a little different from our previous SERVE Days. We will have just one or two main anchor projects (anyone can join kind of project...such as Waitts Lake and Church Clean Up). The main goal of October 9th SERVE Small Group is that each small group would create and lead their own serve project. This could be baking cookies or doing a BBQ for first responders, cleaning up the church grounds, cleaning up a neighborhood park or alongside the Spokane river or helping someone who is elderly prepare their home for winter. We are asking that you begin talking and praying with your small group about what opportunity you would like to create and lead.

Waitts Lake Camp SERVE Weekend: Come join your church family on October 8th and 9th to help replace the roof on the care givers (Don Gardner’s) house at Waitts Lake Camp. We will also need some people for the kitchen crew to help cook, serve meals, and keep snacks and drinks throughout the day. We will start bright and early on Friday at 8 am for those that can help. There will be snacks and coffee provided throughout the day as well as Lunch and Dinner. You are more than welcome to stay at the camp in our dorm rooms or you can bring your RV, there are 12 RV full hookups available for your use. Bring any tools for doing this type of work or if not, we will have a good amount of the tools provided. After dinner on Friday night, we will have games and activities for all to enjoy. Saturday, breakfast, and lunch will be provided as well as coffee and snacks throughout the day.

Don’t hesitate to join this chance to serve and be a blessing to our camp and have a great family time while you are at it!

Please use the link below to sign up for this Serve Opportunity. This will provide us the information we need so we can prepare in advance and let the kitchen crew know how much food to prepare.

I want to participate in SERVE Day but I am not in a Small Group?

Find a Small Group - One of the best way to get involved in our Serve Day is through Turning Point's Summer Small Groups. You can find a small group by searching our Small Groups Directory. Most groups are open to new members throughout the semester, so feel free to contact the Small Group Leader that best fits your interests, meeting location, and time preference.

What if I don’t have serve opportunity selected and my small group wants to serve?

Our hope is that each Small Group plans and participates in a Serve Day project this summer.
If your Small Group is in need of project ideas, view our Serve Day Project Guide or visit our Serve Day Project Ideas below for more information on how to get involved.

How do I plan a serve project?

Let's get creative! Assess the needs of people in your neighborhood and in our local communities and plan a project that meets those needs. Check out our list of Project Ideas below, and other options from local service organizations for ways to get involved. Learn more about project planning in our Serve Day Project Guide.

How do I communicate to the church which serve day project our group is planning?

We’d love to know how your group plans to participate in Serve Day. Register your group’s Serve Day Project here:
Project Registration

Who Pays the Costs Associated With Our Small Group’s Serve Project?

Each Small Group is responsible for the costs associated with their Serve Day project. We recommend spending time planning your project based on your group’s size and commitment level.

What Should I Bring On Serve Day?

Bring any personal items you may need during your project: Serve Day T-shirt, sunscreen, drinking water, sneakers, a hat, etc. Your Small Group Leader can confirm any project-specific items you may need to bring: gloves, rakes, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. Work clothes are a good idea for serve opportunities requiring physical labor, and we recommend not wearing jewelry.

How Will the Church Communicate Additional Details About Serve Day?

Small Group Leaders and Co-Leaders will receive weekly emails with Serve Day updates. Updates will also be made available through our Turning Point Website and Mobile App.

What If We Have Bad Weather Conditions?

If your Serve Day project is outside, make plans to have an inclement weather option available. Some possibilities include visiting a nursing home, serving at a local service organization, or cleaning classrooms at a local school. For indoor serve ideas, view our list of Project Ideas.

SERVE Day Highlight Reel

Serve Day is an amazing opportunity to bless others and be blessed. As an entire church, we will go out into our communities and show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways. Turning Point’s Small Groups will choose a serve project of their own that everyone can do together as a group on Serve Day, so there will be many ways to get involved.
